Position Description

With 100+ locations and over 400 OB/GYNs and specialists across the country, Women’s Care provides comprehensive patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic pathology, breast surgery, genetic counseling, maternal fetal medicine, laboratory services, and fertility.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. They prepare patients during office visits and assist patients and family members before, during and after a doctor’s visit.

  • Performs general nursing care to patients (including phone and in-person triage) in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examinations, and testing of patients.
  • Records patients' medical history, vital statistics and additional information such as test results in electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Collects blood, tissue or other laboratory specimens, logs the specimens, and prepares them for testing.
  • Observes, records, and reports patient’s condition and reactions to drugs and treatments to the physician.
  • Greets patients and prepares them for examination, screens patients for appropriate information and instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls.
  • Assists with referrals and medication refills.
  • Maintains patient recall lists.
  • Prepares examination rooms, including restocking of supplies in treatment areas.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
  • Represents division in a professional manner. Treats all patients, customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
  • Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
  • Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of practical nursing program
  • Valid and current LPN license in the state of work and active BLS/CPR certification.
  • Minimum of one year nursing experience in a clinic environment, OBGYN strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment in deadline-oriented environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records system, preferably eCW.
  • Ability to communicate with coworkers, provider and patients in an effective manner.
  • Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system.
  • Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
